ITEM #2 - Selection of Fifth Member-, Member Bill Carroza moved to reappoint Catherine Adams to the Board. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Ms. Adams w~s duly sworn by Assistant City Clerk Sue Diana. ITEM #3 ...: Approval of Minute~- : Member Bill Carroza moved to approve th~ minutes of December 14, 19a9. The motion was duly seconded by Cathy Adams and carried unanimously. ' ITEM #4 - Civil Service Rules Update- , Paul O'Rourke, Human Resources Administrator, introduced Dina Hyson; Human Resources Manager. The Board was 1~~~lded 'with copies of the revised rules and a summary of the proposed changes. Ms. ,Hyson reviewed the rules chapter '~d9 c~apter: The areas that generated discussion by the Board were 1) acting posilions, 2) the rate of pay applied to demotlons, 3) and flex time. The Board seemed receptive to the changes as proposed. Further discussion will be held with the unions on ,several issues and Human Resources will bring more informatlon'on the rule changes to the Board at the next meeting. , " ITEM # 5 - Director's Reports-None. ITEM #6 - Old BusIness-Mr. Carroza asked what happened with Brett Gardner's reclasslficatfon. He was advised that reclass1flcatlon did occur and Mr. Gardner is doing well in his new p~sition.
