#t Welcome 'New Membcr- Ms. Dagmar Ortiz - Ms. Ortiz lives in the South Greenwood area and had
participated in a community input meeting for the new Ross Norton Recreation Complex. Members welcomed
her to the committee.

#3 Overview of Adoot-a-Park Progrnm Ms. Millie McFadden. Parks Maintenance Coordinator. Ms. McFadden
explained the procedure for adopting a park for plantings and maintenance and handed out sample contracts to
members. She encouraged business and homeowner associations to participate and reminded members that any'
organization partiCipating in the program must have liability insurance. Staffwi11 send members a list of
homeowner associations currently participating.
#4 Approval of Minutes of June 5.2002 '-It was moved and duly seconded to approve the minutes as submitted
to each member~ The motion carried unanimously. '

#5 ' Correspondence - Members received copy of the letter'Ms. Foote wrote to Mayor Aungst regarding interest
,in an annual advisory board recognition dinner.

a} Status ofCllpital Improvement Projccts - Mr. Chin described elP status as follows:
· Community Sports Complex - Construction to begin tate this year. Carpenter Field is approximate
location of stadium; Home Depol is approximate location of parking lot.
· Skate Park - Depends on talks bctween City and college on whether City can acquire site.
· East/West Train - Cliff Stephens section - Under construction.
· Park Amenities - Under way. '
· City~wide P&R Master Plan - Completed; passed by Commission. Staff will send copies to committee
