request from the Committee, Ream Wilson, Parks & Recreation Director, appeared before it to
discuss the possibility of finding a position for Mr. Revello in' which he could work with
reasonable accommodations. After a lengthy discussion. it was determined that nothing in the
Parks & Recreation Department is avuilable. Mr. Revello currently is working in the Marine
. Department at the toll plaza. but this position will be eliminated when the bridge closes in
August. Further discussion ensued. The City is continuing to explore other options for
Mr. Revello. At the conclusion of this discussion, Mr. Revello requested that the Cornrniuee vote

Works Department, for n regular pension based on years of
Ms. Adriance . be granted n pension based on years of service.
by Fred Ratley and .curried unanimously.
Debbie Bailey, Payron Services Manager, addressed the Committee concerning new hire
pension deductions. Currently, Police Officers and Firefighters . have their pension deduction
sct up as of the date of hire and contribution:; start immediately. Otherernployees are set up for
Social Security and changed over to pension once they have been 'approved by the Trustees.
Ms. Bailey' requested that all employees be set up on pension immediately. Under the cur re n t
system, employees receive pension service credit from the date of hire' even though (hey do
not contribute from that date; therefore, the Pension Plan loses money for this period of time.
Under her prop'osal, if for some reason an employee were not approved for pension, the monies
paid into the Pension Plnn could be' withdrawn and paid to S ocinl Security.
Jim Heinz moved 'to adopt the policy of immediately deducting' money for the Pension Plan and,
in the event someone is turned down for pension, placing the employee on Social Security with
an adjustment nnd that this be sent to the City Manager for approval. The motion was d u 1 y
seco~ded by Ed Hooper and carried unani mously.
