ITEM #2 - ADDrovaJ of Minutes Member Brown moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November 4, 1998, as recorded and submitted in written summation to each board member. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously, Member Brown also moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of December 2, 1998, as recorded and submitted in written summation to each board member. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Due to a lack of quorum January 6, 1999, a meeting was not held. ITEM #3 - CorresDondence ., None JTEM #4 ~ Old Business a) Landscaping Plan for the Roundabout Nursery Superintendent Mark Roether showed drawings and renderings of the proposed landscaping plan for the approach to Clearwater beach and the roundabout traffic system. " ". ,>.{ /." l.',l' '; :.,,'} e' C) '- ,.-<J....., .. , 'J > i'" , , b) Beautification Awards Program Members agreed to bring suggestions for future award winners to the next meeting. c) Discussion of Mangrove Letter to City Commissioner Members decided to postpone composing a letter supporting trimming mangroves at the Memorial Causeway until they heard a presentation by Tom Miller, Assistant Director of Engineering PD&E. Mr. Kader said he would invite Mr., Miller to speak at the March meeting. dJ Update on Prospective Committee Mombers Mr. Kader said the City Commission has asked for more candidates before filling the' two vacant positions on the committee. He said signs advertising the vacancies are posted at MSB and recreation centers. ITEM #5 . Staff Reoorts Mr. Roether noted some small projects are under way such as adding trees on Countryside Boulevard, finishing development of Lake Chautauqua Park in preparation for a March opening, and adding vegetation and mulch to the bike trail at Eddie C. Moore West, Complex. ITEM #6 . New Business It was noted the pavement along South Ft. Harrison Avenue is in poor shape. Mr. Kader will report on Department of Transportation (DOT) repaving plans.
