The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall.
To provide continuity for research, items are In agenda order although not necessarily
discussed in that order.
ITEM #1 ~ 1326 Friend Avenue. Clearwater, Florida. Owners. John F. Johnson & Joseohine
KuYoers. Reoresentative. Julie Kleckner - Requesting extension of time to prepare for
demolition of property and to relocate John F. Johnson. Parcel If 22/29/15/16722/000/

Julie Kleckner, representative, said she is Ms. Kuypers' daughter and Mr. Johnson's
niece. She agreed the structure cannot be renovated and needs to be demolished. She
has obtained three estimates. Mr. Johnson currently lives in the house. A family decision
is being reached regarding his relocation. She requested an extension of time to make that
decision and salvage possessions of value.
Building Construction Inspector William Wright expressed concern regarding Mr.
Johnson remaining in the home alone. He distributed several Unsafe Structure Report
Photo Sheets of the property. His unsafe structure report indicates problems with the
carport, rear shed, and complete roofing system on both structures. He was unable to
check the structure's interior.
Mr. Wright indicated an Economic Development Department program provides
financial assistance. In answer to a question, he said staff can provide information
regarding minimum building size, etc. He reported the structure is unsafe.
Member Corcoran moved to authorize a time extension under the Standard Unsafe
Building Abatement Code for 1326 Friend Avenue to grant the owners, John F. Johnson &
Josephine Kuypers, 60 days to complete permitting and demolition of said property. The
motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.

Member Corcoran moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of April 10,
1996, as recorded and submitted in written summation to each member. The motion was
duly seconded and carried unanimously.
ITEM #4 .Pendina Matters
It was suggested the next Board of Adjustment and Appeal on Building/Flood
Control meeting be held at the Municipal Services building.
ITEM #5 . Adiournment
The meeting adjourned at 2:21 p.m.
