CHARITY SOLICITATIONS BOARD
, July 10, 1963
The meeting opened at 1:40 P.M. with the following present:
Joseph L. Coggan, Chairman
*Irving W. Dribben
Rev. C. M. Harris
Guy L. Kennedy, Jr.
R. G. \'lhitehead
Jr. Chamber of Commerce

Ministerial Association
Asst. City Attorney
City Clerk
*Absent at first of meeting, came in at 1:55 P.M.

Willis Booth, Secretary
Police Chief
The Chairman called the meeting to order and presented the
minutes of April 25th for approval. Hearing no objections, he
declared the minutes approved in accordance Hith the copies
sub~~tted to,~ach Board member in writing.
The application of the Old Ft. Harrison Post #2473, Veterans
of Foreign Wars which had been previously approved verbally
was presented for confirmation. Mr. Kennedy moved to confirm
the verbal approval of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in accordance
with their application and the previous verbal approval.
Rev. Harris seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
The application of the Vq,lunteers of America ltlaS presented.
Major L. A. Odom, the representative'of the organization was
presented and gave a history and outlined the Hork of the organiza-
tion. He also answered various questions asked by the Board
members.
Mr. Irving W. Dribben, Board member representing the Chamber of
Commerce arrived at this time 1:55 P.M.
Rev. Harris moved to approve the application of the Volunteers
of 'America as presented. Mr. Kennedy seconded the motion'which
carried unanimously.
The Chairman and the rest of the'Board welcomed Mr. Irving W.
Dribben as a new member of the Charity Solicitations Board.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 2:15 P.M.
