CHARITY SOLICITATIONS BOARD September 15, 1960 The meeting opened at 2:15 P.M. vdth the following present: Mrs. E. J. Daniel, Secy. Don tolill1ams Col. J. H. Watkins H. H.' Baskin, Jr. R. G. ltJhi tehead Merchants Association Jr. Chamber of Commerce Better Business Bureau City Attorney Oi ty Clerl<: In the absence of Chairman Titzel, Col. Watkins called the meeting to order. Mr. Baskin moved that the minutes'of the meeting o~ April 21, 1960, be approved in accordance with copies submitted to each Board member in writing. Motion was seconded by Mr. Williams and carried unanimously. The City Clerk presented for confirmation the following applications. American War Mothers, verbally approved May 6, 1960, Veterans of , Foreign Wars, verbally approved May 6, 1960 and Navy Mothers Club, verbally approved August 17, 1960. Chairman Titzel arrived at this time but requested Col. Watkins retain the chair. ~~ Mr. Williams moved to confirm the verbal approval of the above applications. Mrs. Daniel seconded the motion which carried unanimously. The application of Christ Center, Inc., was presented together ~dth a police investigation report on Mr. Shildt. Mr. Baskin moved that the application be denied. Mr. Titzel seconded the motion which carried unanimously. The application or the United Community Fund for their annual solicitation was presented. Mr. Williams moved that the appli- cation be approved. Motion was seconded by Mrs. Daniel and carried unanimously.
