CHARITY SOLICITATIONS BOARD
June 3, 1958
The meeting opened at 3:00 P.M. with the fallowing present:
Walter .Titzel, Chairman Chamber of Commerce
Col. J. If. Watkins Better Business Bureau
Willis Booth Police Chief
Ben Krentzman City Attorney
R. G. Whitehead City Cleric
The Chairman called the meeting to order. Chief Booth moved that
the minutes of the meetings of March 4th, April lst and May 6th
be approved in accordance with copies submitted to each Board member
'in writing. Motion was seconded by Colonel Watkins and carried
unanimously.
An application from the Youth Welfare Fund of the Patrick Air Force
Base was considered. In the ensuing discussion, the Board expressed
`. sympathy with the purpose of the solicitation but felt that local
youth organizations should receive the benefit of solicitations of
this nature. Mr. Krentzman moved that the application be denied.
Motion was seconded by Colonel Watlcins and carried unanimously.
The application of the Sunshine Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis Society
to hold a fund drive was considered for confirmation. By consent,
the earlier approval was confirmed with the request that a financial
; statement be furnished and that in the future an earlier application
be made
. .
l The application of the Clearwater Chapter, American War Mothers,
for a flower sale which had been approved earlier was confirmed
by consent.
