", ., WORK SESSION TO DISCUSS SHARE PLAN FOR POLICE 'SUPPLEMENTARY PENSION ..~....~.j A ~ork session meeting of the Board of Trustees of the ,Clearwater Police Supplementary Pension Fund was held in the second floor conference room at Police Headquarters, 644 Pierce Street, Clearwater, Florida The meeting was called to order at 8:30 A.M., 'February 19, 1985. I~ Those present were~ I ~.: ~./ I ,. Mayor Kathleeen F. Kelly, Chairman Police Chief Sid Klein, Secretary .Acting Sergeant William Sedrick Captain Ray Kaminskas Donald Hibbard 'Robert G."Walker, Police Legal Advisor (arrived 10:15 A.M.) AIsoc present was Betty Ward, Secretary to Chief Klein. , .' ~ .' i William Sedrick distributed copies of a proposed ordinance for modification of the present Supplementary Pension. . " I ~. " . ...-",\ , . ,-.-I , ' Ray Kaminskas went through the proposed ordinance item by item and ~Kplained his interpretation of the ordinance. He advised that Robert Walker, Police Legal Advisor, had not had time to review ,the proposed ordinance, but that he had assisted Sedrick and himself 'in drawing up ,the document., Some of the most important points of the discussion are listed as follows: }',: " .' ", " .<{ 1. There would be no benefits for disability unless the participant had been in the Plan for at least ten years. 2. The Trustees felt that a change should be made in the" wording in (Sec.26.70) 3. "The word, Police Officer shall specifically eXClude "police Recruit," and Traffic Enforcement Officer." 'i',: , , .:,: ... ", ,'(, " , "<" 3. The Trustees agreed that the name of the modified plan would be called, "Clearwater Police Officers Pension Trust Fund". ... ' .~. 1-" Chief Klein felt that a cover letter should be sent to Marvin' Clayton, Director of the Municipal Police and Fire Pension Trust Fund, Tallahassee along with a copy of the proposed ordinance. Robert Walker, Police Legal Advisor, stated that he could review the proposed ordinance and have it ready for the Board by Friday, February 22nd or Monday, February 25th at the latest. , , , , .... l,::-' .
