'\ \ , '1 A meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on February 27, 1981 ,in the Police Conference Room, Police Department, 644 pierce ,street" Clearwater, Florida. The following Trustees were present: CHARLES F. LeCHER, Chairman SID KLEIN, Acting Secretary DONALD HIBBARD RAY KAMINSKAS WILLIAM SEDRICK . ~.., ~ " , , ,; ,,'J Also present were Richard Griesinger, Assistant City Attorney, and Betty Ward, secretary to Police Chief Sid Klein. .~ ....., : .....1 Mayor, LeCher called the meeting to order at 11:15 A.M. and for approval of the minutes of the meetinghe1d January 2, Donald Hibbard made a motion that the minutes be approved. seconded by William Sedrick. ,Motion carried unanimously. The second item on the agenda was the appointment of secretary of the Board of Trustees.' Donald Hibbard made a motion that the new Chief of Police, sid Klein, be appointed as secretary. Motion seconded by Ray Kaminskas. Motion carried unanimously. called 1981. Motion " c,', Item number three on the agenda was a request from retired Mayor William H. McClamma for pension benefits under ,the Supplementary Pension Fund. Chief Klein presented a' letter dated January 16, 1981 from Major McClamma advising that his last day of work would be January 30, 1981 and his official retirement date would be December 18,' 1981. Sergeant Kaminskas noted that Major McC1arnma had been a member of the Clearwater Police Department for thirty- four years, and had participated in the supplementary pension since its inception, and therefore met the requirements for retirement. Sergeant Kaminskas made a motion that Major McClamma's request be approved. Motion seconded by William Sedrick. Motion carried unanimously. Item number four on the agenda concerned certificates of deposit maturing. Betty Ward reported that the $40,000 money market CO at Biscayne Federal would mature on March 5th, and the $50,000 money market CD at Freedom Savings would mature on March 19th. Sergeant Kaminskas, note4 that the. Barnett Savings balance was in excess of $40,000.00 and that the board might wish to purchase an additional CD or increase a present one. Sergeant Kaminskas made a motion that the CD at Biscayne Federal be increased from the present $40,000 to $70,000.00, and that the CD at Freedom " Federal be renewed at maturity at the best interest rate possible. \~ Motion seconded by Donald Hibbard.
