'.-' >", A meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on November 7, 1980 in the Conference Room, Police Department, 644 pierce street, Clearwater, Florida. McCLAMMA, SECRETARY RAY KAMINSKAS ' DONALD HIBBARD WILLIAM SEDRICK \.;. :," : .~..; Also present were Richard Griesinger, Assistant City Attorney and Betty Ward, Police Chief's Secretary.' .-.':.. . ~:< Mayor LeCher called the meeting to order at 11:30 A.M. and called for approval of the minutes of the meeting held on october 17, 1980. Donald Hibbard made a motion that the minutes be approved. Motion seconded by Sgt. Ray Kaminskas. Motion carried unanimously: Item number two on the agenda concerned certificates of deposit maturing. Betty.Ward reported that Tallahassee Federal money market for $40,000.00 will mature 11-29-80, Florida Federal money market for $40,000.00 will mature' 12-12-80, and Franklin Federal money market .for $20,000.00 will mature 12-13-80. Sergeant Kaminskas stated that we need to redeem one of the C.D's in order to have the funds needed for Frank Daniels' benefits. He made a motion that Betty Ward renew the CD at Tallahassee Federal by mail, redeem the CD at Florida Federal in the amount of $40,000.00, and renew the CD at Franklin Federal in the amount of $20,000.00. Item number three on the agenda - Ratification of CD transactions. Betty Ward reported that the CD at Clearwater Federal was. renewed on 10-23-80 in amount of $40,000 at new rate of interest 11.657%. Also, renewed Clearwater Federal second CD in amount of $40,000.00 on 10-30-80 at new interest rate 12.534%. Officer Sedrick made a motion that the transactions be ratified. Motion seconded by Donald Hibbard. Motion carried unanimously. Item number four on the agenda concerned the legal opinion regarding reinstatement of George Ruppert. Richard Griesinger read the legal opinion submitted by Frank Kowalski. There was a discussion as to whether George Ruppert would be reinstated to his former status in the supplementary pension without losing any seniority benefits. The Secretary, W. H. McClamrna, 'read a letter from Provident Insurance Company stating that the Board would need to pay $1,308.91 to reinstate Ruppert to his former status. There was a discussion as to whether the Board needed to pay all the back insurance.
