CLEARWATER POLICE SUPPLEMENTARY PENSION MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 28, 1979 The Board of Trustees met in the Police Conference Room, 644 Pierce Street, Clearwater, Florida, on september 28, 1979. The following Trustees were present: CHARLES F. LeCHER, Chairman FRANK DANIELS, Secretary RAY KAMINSKAS WILLIAM SEDRICK Donald Hibbard was absent. Also present were Rick Griesinger, Assistant City Attorney, and Betty Ward, Chief Daniels' secretary. Mayor LeCher, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M. and cal~ed for approval of minutes of meeting held August 31, 1979. Ray Kaminskas made a motion that the minutes be approved. Motion seconded by Chief Daniels. Motion carried unanimously. Item two on the agenda was finalization of paperwork re benefits for Officer Jerry Roberts who is retiring. Chief Daniels reported that according to 'correspondence from Provident, Roberts' lump sum would be $25,917.43. His cash surrender value of policies would be $9,555.97. Amount needed from the fund assets would be $16,361.46. Chief Daniels made a motion that this amount be approved. Motion seconded by Ray Kaminskas. Motion carried unanimously. ,,-,\ h-~s. Ward reported that the $40,000.00 CD at First Federal of Largo, and the $40,000.00 CD at Clearwater Federal would mature in October. Ray Kaminskas made a motion that the two CD's be renewed at the best interest rate possible. Motion seconded by Bill Sedrick. Motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Ward reported that she had purchased two money market CD's on September 6, 1979 each for $40,000.00 at Biscayne Federal and Atlantic Bank of Largo at an interest rate of 9.775%. Chief Daniels made a motion that the purchases be ratified. Motion seconded by Bill Sedrick. Motion carried unanimously. Rick Griesinger advised the Board that according to correspondence he received from Marvin Clayton's office it was not necessary to forward the Provident ., computations to his office for approval. After discussion it was decided that the Board would continue to forward all computations to the State Treasurer's O~Iice for review. . Bill 'Sedrick reported on the Police and Fire Retirement Trust Fund seminar he attende~ recently in Orlando. . . , Chief Daniels presented an invoice for payment from Provivent in amount of $114,352.90 covering the annual premiums for present participants. Bill Sedrick, made a motion that the invoice be approved. Motion seconded by Ray Kaminkas.
