MINUTES of Meeting held July, 23, 1975 at 2:30 P.M. at the Police Department. \,' Meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mayor Gabriel Cazares at 2:30 P.M. Those members present were Frank Daniels, Secretary, Donald Hibbard, Officer Jerry Roberts, captain Bernard Enlow, and Assistant City Attorney Guy L. Kennedy, Jr. '.'.'" .'" ''"::,: Mr. Hibbard made a motion that the Minutes of meeting held,January 10, 1975 be approved. Motion seconded by Captain Enlow. Motion carried unanimously. to'.\. 'I", I~>'", since it was Mayor Cazares' first meeting as, Chairman of the'B~rd of Trustees he asked to be briefed on the workings of the Police Supplementary Pension. Mr. Kennedy explained some of the background of the Police Supplementary Pension since its inception in 1959. . , . ~ .'1 \.:.,.1 The first item on the agenda was a request from Russell Riendeau for pension benefits. Chief Daniels advised the Board that Provident Insurance Company had submitted their calculations regarding Riendeau's pension benefits and that these figures had been forwarded to Mr. Kennedy. Mr. , Kennedy said that he had sent all information regarding Mr. Riendeau's pension to the State Treasurer's Office in Tallahassee and that the Treasurer's Office had replied and had approved the computations based on the information which had been received. Chief Daniels advised that the cash value of Riendeau's insurance policies is $5,556.25, and. that the total cost to purchase the annuity for Russell Riendeau is $14,650.00, leaving $9,093.75 as the portion from the auxiliary fund to purchase said annuity. Mrs. Ward stated that Mr. Reindeau had chosen the Cash Refund Annuity option and had so signed the form. Jerry Roberts made a motion that the Board approve the request from Russell Riendeau and that the Secretary be authorized to make the necessary withdrawal. from the savings account at Barnett Bank to the cheCking account at Barnett Bank to forward a check to provident Insurance Company in the amount of $14,650.00. The ,Board received the proposal for study and review. Captain Enlow made, a motion, that the proposal from Lincoln National Life Insurance Comp'any be turned over to Donald Hibbard and Guy Kennedy for review and recommendations to the pension board. Trust Funds, regarding Lump Sum Settlement.
