Official minutes ,of the Board of Trustees, Clearwater Police
Supplementary Pension Plan, said meeting held at the Beachcomber
Restaurant" North Osceola Ave. September 17, 1959 at noon.
Members present were Mayor A.D. Finch, Chairman, Chief W.D.Booth,
Secretary, H.B. Baskin, City Attorney, Capt. Frank Dan1els,Trusteo,
Detective Sergeant Lester Marston, Trustee, Jack Martenst Trustee,
W.W. McDougal. representative 'of the Provident Life Insurance
Company. Mr. Martens appeared at the meeting b~iofly, and had
other committments 80 therefore was unable to be present during
the discussion that followed. The Board was informed that Mr.
Cluster of the Gulf Life Insurance Company was unable to be
located, that numerous telephone calls had been made in an effort
to locate, but to no avail.
After hearing Mr. McDougal discuss the proposals of his company,
a motion was made by Sgt. Marston, seconded by Capt. Daniels, and
passed unanimously that the plan, proposed by Provident Insurance'
Company, represented by Mr.. McDougal, be accepted, which is to
provide maximum retirement and death benefits to members of the
Clearwater Police Department.
It was further moved by Capt. Daniels, and seconded by Sg~.MarstoD
that the Chairman, A.D. Finch, and the Secretary, W.D. Booth, be
authorized to execute any and all necessary papers, including
payment of premiums by check, to effect the plan.

It was further moved by Sgt. Marston, "and seconded by Capt.Daniels
that Corpus of the Trust be deposited in a local bank, or savings
and loan association, in such an account as will insure the
greatest safety and maximum interest; hereafter th~ Trustees of
the Police Pension Fund will administer trust corpus in accordance
with Chapter,l85 or the Florida Statutes. '
