Copies of the city ordinance governing advisory boards were distributed.
Also distributed was a summary of portable library buildings from Porta-
Structure, Inc. of Washington, D.C. The portable building idea was presented
to the City Manager. The library staff could be stretched to cover additional
branches (portable buildings) if all the branches were open 25 hours a week
instead of 37.5 hours.
The new president of the Friends of the Clearwater Library is Dr. David
Berry.
The last library referendum and the possibility of another referendum
was discussed. Board members felt that more grass roots support for the
library is needed.
Establishment of a Clearwater Library Foundation and perhaps endowment
was discussed. A local attorney has agreed to donate his time to assist
the Library Board.
Mrs. Mielke discussed the upcoming 1982/82 library budget. Several
