Ms. Mielke explained that school libraries are geared to students and contain a limited collection for study. Service hours are limited to school hours. The public library offers a more balanced collection and provides services and programs for the public that cannot be offered in school libraries. ~fs. Brasfield stated that students do have to go to the public library for more in-depth materials when preparing reports. The following question was also asked of Mrs. Fay Sollid by a citiz.cn: Why should citizens pay for two more libraries when the ne\~ Largo Library seems to be seldom used? Mrs. Mielke and Mr. Royer both reported that the Largo Library is heavily used. Mrs. Mielke noted that the Clearwater Public Library's usage has increased considerably since our expansion, with circulation up 35%. t"r':',>::' l >, , ' " ' :1' " , , ~".'\~'~';',':~' -. .' :;' .;':!
