1. Mr. Korosy announced that Mrs. Johnson had resigned from
the Board due to her husband's ill health.
2. At its meeting of July 19, 1974, the Board had approved
a resolution asking the Chairman to seek a joint meeting
of the 'Board and City Commission to discuss the library
building projects. Mr. Korosy reported that from the
tenor of the budget hearings on September 3, he believed
that such a meeting would be useless. Specific projects
were not listed in the 1970 GOB and no money remained from
that source for library projects. However, the Library is
included in a planned 1975 GOB issue.
3. Mr. Korosy reported on a meeting of the Wickman Collection
Committee with Mr. Robin Wickman and the Librarian on
September 18. Mr. Wickman wants to work more closely with
the Committee and indicated that he would like to see the
COllection grow.
4. Mr. Hardaway reported on
a) A change in the Library's opening hours from 8 P.M.
to 9 P.M. Monday through Friday.
b) The need for a fire escape serving the second and
third levels of the WPA section of the building.
c) The 1974/75 operating budget as approved by the
Commission.
d) The progress of the Task Force to study county
library service.
