Present were members: Coleman, Killeffcr, Filcwicz, Williams, Byers and Akerman. The minutes from last meeting were read and approved. Everyone was pleased to welcome the new City Manager, Mr. Stierheim, who attended the meeting. Nothing has been decided about raising the library fee as discussed at the last meeting. However, Mr. Stierheim assured the board it was under consideration. Mr. Kil1effer reported he had purchased some books for the Wickman Memorial Collection. Miss Byers presented the November statistics and Mr. Williams suggested ~hat a running figure be kept for the year, carrying total from month to month. This would give a guide as to circulation and kinds of books, applying to types such as fiction or non-fiction. Mr. Killeffer is disappointed with the Senior Citizens Book project; Mrs. Sharp finds the books little used. Nor have the group carried through with their promises to help. Mr. Killeffer mentioned John de Hartog, a famous author who expressed his desire to donate books to the Wickman Memorial Collection. Nothing has been heard from Mr. de Hartog lately. Mr. Killeffer asked for $50.00 to buy more books for this collection so Mrs. Filewicz made a motion that he be authorized to spend up to that amount. Mr. Williams seconded the motion and it passed. v lOC.l\f Hr~GRV COLLrCTION , ' , .' ~~:>r')> ,.<" . ":.t':' !. "':" ' ." " . \ .' .... ~. , ~ , ';';, 't,' . ; " !,. .....,'.. .
