The regular meeting of the Library Board was held on January 20, 1967. Members
present were:
Coleman~ Williams, Filewicz, Akerman and Byers.
After the minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved, Dr. Coleman
reported that he had talked at length with Mr. Loomis about naming the Senior
Citizens Collection for him'. Mr. Loomis appreciated the honor but insists it
should be named for some person other than himself. He was very strong in this
belief and so Dr. Coleman recommended the resolution be rescinded and a committee
appointed to select a suitable name.
A motion was then made by Mrs. Filewicz to rescind the resolution by request of
Mr. Loomis. This motion was seconded by Mr. Williams. Dr. Coleman appointed
Mrs. Filewicz and Mr. Killeffer to seek out names to be considered for this col-
lection.
Shelving for the beach library has not materialized but Mr. Weimer has been
pursuing the matter. This shelving is vital to the Senior Citizens Collection.
Mr. Killeffer presented a request for some expenditures for books to be added
to the Wickman Collection. These would cost up to one hundred dollars. Mr.
Williams entered a motion to allow this purchase, and it was seconded by Mrs.
Filewicz. All agreed and it was passed.
The, secretary was instructed to send a letter to Mr. Loomis advising him of the
board's action.
The meeting adjourned at two thirty-five.
Dorothy B. Akerman
