BOX 1328 Clearwater, Florida Miss Sarah Byers, Director The Clearwater Library Board met on September 17, 1965 at the main library. Present were members: Coleman, Filewicz, Killeffer, Akerman and Byers. The minutes from the last meeting w~re read and approved. Miss Byers discussed plans for a second floor and ground floor on the main 1i- brary. She explained that this would mean changes in arrangement of various things but stated that chances of this addition seemed bright. Ho~rs at the Beach Branch are working out well and all of the patrons appear pleased that this night time is available now. Books for the Wickman Collection have been purchased and a new thoughtfully compiled list was presented. The cost would be approximately $142 for 38 books. A motion was made that these books be bought and motion was approved and seconded. The secretary was instructed to send a note of thanks to Mr. E. L. Richards for 12 charts and 6 cases which he donated. A motion was made to send a letter to Mrs. Lewis Horner asking her to authorize a release of bank funds donated to the Friends of the Library, a now defunct organization. A stamped and addressed envelope to Mr. George Hardy to be enclosed along with a short authorization form for ~Irs. Homer's signature. Dear ,Mrs. Homer: The Clearwater Library Board voted uaanimously at the regular meeting on September 17 to make a fannal request of you to transfer the funds of the long-defunct Friends of the Library into the proper channels. Mr. George Hardy, who was treasurer of the defunct HFriends" feels that your authorization in addition to his, is desirable for this transfer since your signature and his are on the account. It has been impossible for us to locate the third person on this authorization. Please sign the authorization form below at once and place it in the enclosed stamped and addressed envelope. ~fr. Hardy. at the bank, will immediately take the necessary steps to place these funds where they can be used for the purposes originally intended by those who contributed them to the Friends of the Library.
