Clea~iater, Florida
Miss Sarah Byers, Director
The Clearwater Library Board met on April 3D, 1965 at the main library. Present
were members Byers, Filewicz, Williams, Killeffer and Akerman.
Minutes from the previous meeting were read, corrected and approved. Miss Byers
presented the statistics sheets for February and March.
Mr. Kil1effer brought a letter containing a list of books which had been carefully
compiled. This was a proposal to order these volumes for the Wickman collection;
the cost would be approximately one hundred eighty one dollars ($181.00) This
proposal was put in the form of a motion and seconded. All approved.
Miss Byers produced an estimate of finishing the extra work on the main library
but this estimate included various other things besides completion of the lower
level. this would have to be separated before previously discussed plans could
be clarified.
Hours at the Beach Branch Library have not been changed yet but as this ties in
closely with use of the Wickman collection, a motion was made and seconded that
the library remain open one night a week. This was approved. Miss Byers will
give a press release to inform the public of these new hours expccially for those
interested in the Wickman collection.
Miss Byers received a form of assurance of compliance from the state which is to
be signed. This form, HEW-441 is from the Health, Education and Welfare Dept.
and the board voted that this was to be signed by Miss Byers as Head Librarian.
