The members of the Clearwater Library Board met at 1:40 PM on February 28, 1964.
Present were:
Dr. Coleman, ~fr. Ki1leffer, ~Ir. Williams, Miss Byers and Mrs. Akerman.
Miss Byers reported that she had not had time to claim the $277 balance in the
bank. Mr. Hardy is trying to get a release of funds from the Friends of the
LibraT}' .
The Wickman Fund has accumulated interest amounting to about @2,OOO according to
January 31 balance. There is a general checking account in the First National
Bank in the amount of $140.
Irene Albert has promised to rp.lease a story about the Wickman collection. Miss
Byers is to be reimbursed for books which were ordered and she paid for. ~luch
interest has been shown in the rare books kept in cases at the Beach Branch
Library according to ~frs. Sharp. '
It was agreed that most opinion is against any plans for a county library. The
Board feels it most urgent to keep plugging for a way to finish the space beneath
the main library.
~ri5S Byers reports that she is working with the teacher of Anlcricanism vs Commu-
nism. A new phone has been installed in the main library and is most convenient.
Mr. Killeffer suggests that cases be obtained and used for revolving appearances
of collections. The doll collection belongs to the library but the board agreed
it could be loaned, perhaps to a historical society or some organization such as

the U.D.C:. without losing ownership. This idea was put in the form of a motion
and caTried. Miss ByeTs will follow through on this.
It was brought out in the meeting that the children were behaving in a much more
orderly manner while in the library.
A motion was made and seconded that the meeting adjourn until March 20th. 1964.
