'" - ~ Minutes of' Meeting of October 18, 1963 Clearwater Library Board. Present were Messrs. Coleman, Williams, Killeffer and Miss Byers. Chairman Coleman called the meeting to order at 2:00 PM. No minutes of previous meeting were read. $550. ~- $50 given for the Wickman Collection and a bequest by Mr. John M. Mac Kenzie, late of Clearwater, of $500, to cover a subscription to ~foody' s Manual (financial). Some discussion of the status of the fund held by the Friends as a memorial to Bob Wickman resulted in a decision to leave the question of trans- " fer of this fund to the Board in the hands of Mr. George Hardy, who has been treasurer of the Friends. Miss Byers spoke of name plates to be put on special gifts (as the ~oebling gifts) and showed the members of the Board a sample. She also repcrted on the status of the self-service reproducing machine she hopes to have installed soon without cost to the Library for a trial. She also said that she would con- tact the American Merchant Marine Library in New York hoping it may be able to ' contribute to the Wickman collection. Other matters reported by Miss Byers in- cluded the crash program to get our cataloging up to date (nearly 5000 volumes added to the catalog this summer) and the 0011 Collection (that is being put in condition for exhibit). Mr. Killeffer was asked to secure publicity for the Board's fund. This was done and a good notice appeared in the Clearwater Sun for October 21. Miss Byers~ statistical report is attached. The meeting adjourned at 3:20 PM. ~ D. H. Killeffer, Secretary Pro-Tern. LOCAL HISTORY COlLECTION
