The Clearwater Library Board met at the library on March 16, 1962
Present were:
Reverend Robert E. Coleman Jr.
Mrs. Prank Pilewicz
Miss Sarllh Byers
Mrs. Dorothy Ackerman
Mr. William Williams
Mr. G. B. Weimer
Mr. Killeffer
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The status of the Negroe
library was discussed as to the painting, furniture and other work. Miss Byers
explaine~ that the library would be equipped for adults to use as well as children.
Mr. Killeffer told about a proposed Maritime Yachting Library in memory of the
late ~1r. Wickman. Book plates aTe being designed for it and he thinks Mrs. Wickman
has short stories which she will contribute. The Coast Guard and the Power Squad-
ron have appointed Mr. Killeffer to take charge of this. Contributions will be
accepted at the Beach Library.
Reverend Coleman read a note from Julia Sharp thanking the board for a raise in
her salary.
Mr. Weimer brought with him a large picture which was sent to the city from Nagano,
Japan, with its history written on the back in Japanese and translated into English
on a typewritten sheet attached. He also had a box of other material from Nagano
city. A motion was made by Mrs. Filewicz and carried, to place all of the things
at the beach library. Mrs. Filewicz will work on this project with Miss Byers.

Mr. Killeffer brought the subject up concerning a book plate design in hopes
that some of the Clearwater artists would submit drawings to be used for making
a printing plate.
Miss Byers reported that she had made arrangements to attend the Jacksonville
meeting and Reverend Coleman said the board members had also been invited.
A motion was made by Mrs. Filewicz to appoint a vice-chairman. This was carried

and Mr. Williams is vice-chairman.
The board decided to meet at the beach library branch with Mrs. Sharp and set
the date for Wednesday, March 21, 1962.
Miss Byers and Mr. Weimer presented tentative figures for a budget covering this
coming year. The figures were evaluated.
The next regular board meeting will fall on Good Friday, so it \~as deemed advis-
able to postpone it until Friday, April 13, 1962 at 1:30 PM.
