'" MINUTES OF THE LIBRARY BOARD Clearwater Library Board met at the home of Mrs. Eugene Halmi at 10 A.M. on May 27th. 1960. Those present were: Mrs. Frank Filewicz, Mrs. Eugene Halmi, Mr. William H. Williams, Mrs. Earle Lokey, Miss Sarah Byers and Mr. Joseph Coggan (architect). Mr. Coggan discussed plans of the new library addition. It was decided that the Bookmobile Area would be located in the space originally allo- cated for a.garden area. The rest rooms will be transferred from original place to the southeast corner of building, and a telephone booth will be placed in a corner of the lobby. Mrs. Filewicz presented a job application from Mrs. ~fabel Spiers. ~frs. Spiers came before the board, presented qualifications and requested a full time job. Discussed budget was presented by Miss Byers. Copy of same received by Chairman from City Manager. Mrs. Halmi read from Bond Issue as follows: No. 4 - "Improvements to the Central Library Bldg. owned by the City including the construction of an addition to said building on a site now owned by the City on the north side of the present building; the construction of a branch library on the site now owned by the City adjacent to the existing Youth Center. all substantially in accor- dance with the preliminary estimates now on file in the office of the City Cler~. Ii ~ Page 2 of minutes of May 27th. 1960 No. 5 - "A Memorial Civic Center to be constructed on the beach on a site now owned by the City located across the Clear- water Memorial Causeway Boulevard from the Municipal Marina, such Civic Center to include an Auditorium seat- ing 300 people, stage and catering facilities, an office for the Chamber of Commerce, quarters for a branch of the Central Library, all substantially in accordance with,the preliminary estimates now on file in the office of the City Clerk."
