They are Dr. A. T) Cornwell, Mts. Julia Cox, .fw1r. Robert Dixon and Mr's. Eugene L. Pearce. The chairman called for a brief report of recent activities at the library~The librarian reported that the extensive repairs , . and redecol;"ating had reached a total cost of $5599.64 to date, , " I ~ . . ' , and.th.at $4723~28 had been spent from city budget in other expenditures, leaving a balance of $7477.08 f~r the remaining seven months. The librarian reported that the records show fewer tourist registrations in the deposit category, but that the circulation records for the last three months show a .considerable increase , , over the same period in 1947. Such figures seem to indicate that a larger percentage of ' the patronage has come into the permanent resident category and that the patrons as a whole are re~ding extensively. " The report went on to say that both bindery and: equipment costs have been especially h8BVY, but that bindery service has been improved, and equipment is more obtainable. Cons~quently, both the shelves and the files are more nearly in condition and up to date.
