A regular meeting of the Clearwater Library Board was held Friday October 18, 1936 in the Chamber of Commerce Board Room. Present: Mr. D3yly, Mr. Cornwell, Mrs. Pearce, Mr. Paxton, with Mr. Bayly, President, in the chair. Minutes of last meeting were read & approved, together with previous bills omitted from last meeting. Monthly bills also read and approved. Letter from Sunset Point Demonstration Club was read, expressing appreciation, of the loan of books, both fiction & educational. Librarian reported that: - In ~une library was painted by H. H. Friedt, whose bid of $65.00 was lowest. - That shelving had been added during the summer to hold about 500 more books. - That stock was taken June 1, when it was found that the library had total of 18,047 books: 14,323 being adult, 3,724 juv. Of this number 8,973 are fiction, with 9,169 non-fiction. - That in the storm of September, a large window was blown in, and wind and rain damaged a number of books, & mamy people had brought in storm damaged books. = after some discussion, it was recommended by Mr. Cornwell, seconded by Mr. Paxton, that these people were not to be pressed for payment for this damage, which could not be helped. - A gift of about 100 books had been received from Mrs. Ruperti. - A gi~t of a picture of Andrew Carnegie & letter of appreciation had been sent donors. rotA! fUSTOR~ <::OlLECT10H ~~'~~;:~?~:::I \ ~:. : ..~.
