Gentlemen: We have the honor to submit the following report of the Public Library for the year ending, March 31st, 1923. No. of books loaned --------------------------------------- 18,666 11 .. fiction ------------------------------------------- 15,176 11 11 non -fiction ------------------------------------- , 1,49.0 5,340 II consulting reference books, magazines etc. ---------- An increase of nearly two thousand over last years circulation, and would have been m~ch larger had our winter people used the library as freely as last year, but there seemed to be so many counter attractions for them, they did not patronize the Library as heavily, however, we feel that, as this is a year round institution there is every reason to feel highly gratified at the increase of circulation, as it shows, the home people are not loosing interest in their library. The circulation during the Summer months averaging over twelve hundred per month. Nearly five hundred books have been added to the library during the past year. ......../ mm RISTORV tolLECTlON :\" 'f ~~n'"~"",,. ." _," Page 2 o Report of Clearwater Public Library To the Board of Directors of Clearwater Public Library. A very fine collec6ion of books on music have been presented the library by the Music Club, two very valuable histories from Mr. H. R. Davey, and several others have also contributed, Mrs. Jacob Disston again remember- ing us with a gift of twenty dollars for new books. The reinforced and resewed bindings purchased, we beleive will prove very satisfactory, and help lighten the repair work, which has become too heavy for one to handle. The sending of others to the bindery will also be of great assist- ance. We have sent on small shipment, and hope to get another off in a short time; with these and the added convenience for repair work we hope the usefullness of the catalogue as to what the library contains by the use of analytic. cards. We wish to express our appreciation to the Board for their co- operation and generosity in granting the extended vacation last summer, which enabled us to take training which we find very helpful and advantageous in. our work. Respectfully submitted, Grace E. Moase, Librarian. ~.'
