The name of the Association shall be the Clearwater Library Association of Clearwater, Florida and its location Clear- water, Florida. Object - The object of the Association is to provide and maintain a library and Reading Room and to provide education advantages and entertainment. Hembership - A resident of Clearwater or vicinity who is the holder of an unexpired annual or simi-annual ca1:d of membership shall be a member of the Association and entitled to one vote. Management - The Association shall be mamaged by a Board of seven directors. Officers - Xhe directors shall elect a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer and a corresponding secretary. Meetings - The annual meeting of the members shall take place on the second Monday in April of each year and other meetings shall be called by the secretary at any time when directed by the president of the Board of Directors or by petition of seven members. Elections - At the first meeting of members there shall be elected seven directors, three to serve one year and four to serve two years, and thereafter at each annual meeting there ehall be elected three or four directors for two years each, as the case may be to take the places of those whose terms expire. Should any vacancy occur from any cause it may be filled temporarily by the remaining directors until a regular or special meeting of the members shall elect a director for the unexpired term. Should directors not be elected at an annual meeting, the Board shall call a special meeting of the members within 30 days for that purpose. The object of all special meetings shall be stated in the call for the meeting. Election of Officers - Immediately following the annual meeting a special meeting at which they may be elected the directors shall assemble and elect a President, a vice-President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, ^ and a Corresponding Secretary. TertIls of Office - The terms of office.'of. the officers shall expire with the adjourment of the meeting at which their successors are elected. are elected. Duties of Officers - The president shall preside at all meetings of the Assoc- iation and of the Directors and shall carry out the instructions of the Directors. The vice-President shall discharge the duties of the Pres- ident in his absence. The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings, shall keep all records of the Association, shall give the ten-day notice of Annual and Special meetings, shall notify di~ectors of directors meetings upon the call of the president. The Treasurer shall keep in Bank the funds of the Association and shall maintain a full set of books showing its financial condition. He shall payout money only opon order of the Sec- retary or tibrarian, countersigned by the President or vice- President. The Corresponding Secretary shall attend to all the corres- pondence of the Association. Executive Com - An executive Committee of three all-year residents of Clearwater shall be appointed by the directors at ~heir first meeting, from its membership whose duty it shall be to carry out the policy and instructions of the Directors during their 3bsence. Order of Business - The order of business at Annual and Special meetings of the Association shall be as follows. Reading of Minutes of last meeting Reports of officers Other Reports I, Election of Directors General Business. Jones to discuss informally the organization of a library association in Clearwater. It seemed to be the decided belief on the part of those present and on the part of those who were prevented from attending, that Clearwater should " have a library and reading room and that the time was ripe for its organiza~ tion. The gathering wae not formally organized, but it unanimously directed and authorized Mr. H. W. Bivins to appoint a committee of seven, of which he was to be a member and its chairman, to formulate a plan of organization of the Clearwater Library Association this committee to act also as an Execu-::'. tive Committee in the interim with full power to act in behalf and in place of the permament organization, until that organization was perfected. Mr. Bivins named the fOllowing as members of the committee and it was called to meet at his office, l~ednesday, March 15th at 10 A. M. E. H. Jones Committee: H. W. Bivins, Chairman. Mrs. J. J.
