January 17, 1995
The City Commission, meeting as the Community Redevelopment Agency, met
in regular session at City Hall, Tuesday, January 17, 1995 at 9:13 am,
with the following members present:

A motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the
minutes of January 3, 1995.
3. Unfinished Business
Cleve and Street-Tree
s - Per Ream Wilson, Director of Parks &
Recreation, the trees along Cleveland Street will be trimmed the week of
: January 23, 1995. There will be little or no impact on traffic or
parking,along Cleveland Street. Decorative lighting for these trees is
still being researched.
Relocation,'of„ CRA of ce -- Mr. Gozza informed the Board of his
negotiations with Terry Tsafatinos, owner of the Colony Building,
regarding the leasing of space for the CRA office. The Board concurred
that relocating the CRA office in the downtown area was significant and
'encouraged Mr. Gozza to continue discussion with Mr. Tsafatinos.
4. New Business
GrantsiZero Interest _Appl, cations Update - Mr. Gozza reported that 16
applications have been requested. Kwall & Gross have finished their

this month and the meeting with Klein & HeutchenIa architect was as
recent as last week. Others have decided not too use the programs
because their renovations were not major or they chose to do it at their
own expense; one has relocated outside of the distract; another business
has been sold; another is a real estate agent who makes the programs
known to possible tenants of their downtown buildings.
Mr. Gozza reported that additional marketing and/or promotion for these
programs is necessary and that First Union Bank has been working with
the CRA office on this project.
Downtown Development Board Ballot - The City of Clearwater received a
similar ballot which will be discussed at the City Commission meeting
immediately following this meeting. A motion was made, seconded and
unanimously carried to proxy this ballot to the City Commission.
5. Executive Director Verbal Reports
Visugl, Preference Survey Update - Mr. Gozza reported that a total of 250
VPS packets have been distributed. On January 25th, the survey will be
administered to 100 Clearwater High School students. The Central Area
Council has recommended to its members that in lieu of their regularly
scheduled meeting they attend the January 18th live VPS seminar.
Channel, 10 will do a- news story on the VPS -' it will air on
Thursday, January 19th at 6:00 pm. and will highlight Clearwater
residents, Steven and Barbara Traum of Clearwater Beach, who will be
participating in the survey.
Television date listings of the VPS are broadcast throughout the day on
C-View, Channel 35 and prior to and after the actualseminar on Vision
Cable, Channel 9.
