Ayres, Secretary Also.Present: Henry St, Jean Building 'Inspector The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.M. by Chairman Batstone in. the Conference Room at the City Hall Annex Operation's.Center, 10 South Missouri.Avenue. Mr. Batstone outlined the procedure of the Board so that the applicant Mr. George Hurst, representing Mr. Robert S. Ziernicki, could explain his request. This.is a meeting of the Board of Adjustment and Appeals, on the Flood Control Law, Chapters 7, 9 and 10 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Hurst requested a variance of sixteen (16)`inches below recognized flood elevation of twelve (12) feet because of the surrounding homes which.are at a much lower elevation, and the fact that ' it would create an eyesore. Also, the size of the lot does not allow adequate drainage or landscaping. After some discussion, Mr. Edward Walker made the following motion': "Upon consideration of the appeal of,Robert S. Ziernicki from the deci- sion of the Building Inspector,concerning Lot 64, Unit 7C of Units 6D, 7A, 7C, Island Estates.of Clearwater, Pldt Book 64, Pages land 2, 845 Harbor-Island, it appearing after this duly constituted hearing that there are practical difficulties and unnecessary hardships in carrying out the strict letter of the provisions of the Flood. Control Ordinance as it affects such structure and that the same can be varied within the intent of the Flood Control Ordinance, I move that such appeal be granted in accordance with the application amended to read a variance of sixteen (16") inches below the twelve (12') foot flood level." Ayres: Discussions have been made regarding Mechanical Equip- ment des.ign.to heat potable'water on residences. These units'have been tested through a U.L. approval to be. used under certain conditions. if these units are used.for any other purpose' than to heat.potable water for the residences they would not be approved for converter installation. That is, if a water ! heater is designed to heat water for. bathing, wash- ing and laundry units it would not be acceptable to use this heater to heat a,swimming Pool.
