Mr. Warren Renando, Acting Director of the Planning De-
partment) met with the Board tn discuss n proposed comprehen-
sive parks and recreation program at Countryside Annexation II
by U.S. Homes. Mr. Renando made available individual colored
prints of propoRed units of annexation ao veIl as an overall
p~int which indicated annexBtion in the va~iOUB parta of the
Countryside sector. Approximately 443 acres will be requested
by.U.S. Homes for annexation in this area. and indications are
such that the City will .be prOVided at least 50.6 acres. The
Board was advised pertaining to the WoodBnte sector of 7 acrcs
that is now unde~ development ond the proposal of u.s. llomes
to donate two additional acres contiguous to the present pro-
perty. They stated they will provide almost immediate title
t~ this property, although they request construction of a
swimming pool or recreat1.on center within twelve months after
donation of the property. Acting upon this suggestion, the
Parks ana Recreation Board indicated acquisition of the addi-
~ionnl two acres is highly desirable. although obligation to
improve or eonstruct facilities within the next twelve months
ia objectionable.
