minutes of the meeting of October 8S received in the mail by
the Board. Motion carried.
Board members discussed The Parks and Recreation Plan as
pyesented at the October, meeting. 'Copies of this plan and sug-
gestions had been previously received from Mrs. Grenelle and
NT. Price. It was agreed all members would provide input to The
Parks and Recreation Plan and submit their recommendations to
tbe office to be incorporated into a maste~ plan.

Mr. Wilson reported on various recreation programs for the
depaytment. He indicated personnel had been added to Oak Grove,
North Ward, DelOra and Wood Valley. The Del Oro and Wood Valley
areas had been without supervision and now that it has been added
..th~ progra~s have proven most successful.
".
Chairman Dick Prokes reported he haa conveyed a letter to
, Mayor Cazares with r~gard to comments of Board members on the
auditorium selection site.
'. Mr. Moore reported on the following capital improvement pro-
.fects. , .
McMullen Park Tennis Complex - Completion of the building is
quite near. The contractor indicates the building will be ready
by approximately mid-December, although his date may extend until
.,'~anuary if desired. Mr. Payne, City Electrician, will install the
lights fo~' the tennis courts to be completed approximately the
'same.time the building is made available.
Del Oro Park - The restroom buildings have been completed
with only the parking lot remaining to finalize all improvements
at ihis park. .
Wood Valley Park - Two tennis courts and a concrete multi-
purpose ~ourt have been advertised wieh bids to be due on Decem-
ber 10th. We have been advised by members of the Community De-
velopment Committee that funds should be available in the p~oject
~o accommodate a~ceptance of the two bids if they are at all
re~8onable.

~t1me 88 the fill is completed. Mr. Voght has reported a single
deep well will be obtained which should provide adequate water
for the entire drive.
Kings Highway Center Landscaping is to be completed within
tbe next few weeks. The Board is invited to hold their next
monthly meeting at this facility. After discussion, it was agreed
the n~xtJmceting of the Board will be held at this facility on
Monday, December 15th at. 7~30 P.M.
.
Three horseshoe courts have been completed at the Greenwood
Complex on Russell Street and two additional courts have been
'added to the complex at Wright Park.
Valencia Par~ -Bids have been placed for the parking lot for
accommodating six cars. These bi4s are expected to be received
by December 10th.
Morningside Complex Board member~ were advised improvements
bad been made which included a new roof to the main building.
The areas in the handball and basketball courts have been resodded.
The walls of the handball courts and tennis backstop have been
repainted.
()
In reporting on the budget, Mr. Moore indicated department

Board membHrs were provided a copy of a print from Mr. Ralph
kIlen who has a 20-acie parcel of p~operty for sale. This 20 acres
is contiguous to a 20-acre tract owned by the Kamensky family.
Acquisition of the 20-acre tract would be highly desirable for
construction of softball and baseball facilities. In discussing.
the need for such facilities, it was agreed if these properties
eould be obtained that $175,000. now budgeted for a softball com-
plex be applied to the purchase of the property. The industrial
park IS-acres owned by the City had been previously approved as a
site for a softball complex, but restrictions prevented this type
of construction. However, the City Commission haa approved the
use of money from the sale of this industrial park property for
purchase of land for a softball complex. Therefore, expenditure
of $175,000. for purchase of land and allocation of the receipts
from the sale of the industrial park property could be utilized
in reverse. Motion by Mr. McWhorter and seconded by Mr. Stavros
that efforts be made to acquire the entire 40 acres for a recrea-
tion complex. Mation carried.
