It was reported that illness has affected the Department in the last several weeks, especially in the Nursery Division. Joe f<1iller, Water Distribution Foreman, has been out several weeks with back surgery and will be out further. Bob Marek, Foreman II, has been out due to illness, und Acting Superintendent Bill Voght has been out several days duc to illness. Memorial Causeway has been affected due to lack of funds and personnel. Water bills on the causeway are several hundred dollars monthly with the same being said of Island Estates. Major decisions due to water costs must be made soon. Efforts will be made to upgrade the Causeway. Forestry Division's street Tree program has been suspended due to necessity of planting cedars along Highway 580 to serve as a buffer for the sewage disposal plant. A total of 240 trees are to be planted. Both tree spades are in action. The project has taken all of this month and will extend into February for completion. <"'0 . . f. ..
