Copies of the plant guide from the Southwest Florida Water Management District

located at 900 Chestnut Street at the Utilities Building. ~embers ensued

the library haa the xeriscapa information availabl~. Bl1l Baldwin suggested
sending out press releases on a regular basis to the newspaper concerning
xeriscaping. Barbara Huber suggested the possibility of aaking students from
area schools for their participation whereby the students could design a
landscape project. Bernie Baron suggested contacting Pinellas Technical
Education center where students are currently enrolled in landscaping courses.
Students would be rewarded for their efforts. The City of Clearwater could
possibly donate the apace for the project. candace Gardner stated that a letter
would need to be submitted to the area schools aSking if they would be interested
in participating in Buch a project ~hereby the students would be awarded for
their efforts. Mark Roether interjected that sponsors for such a project might
include Pinellas County Extension Servicet Landscape Maintenance Association and
Florida Nursery and Growers naoociation. Mark Roether stated that he ~ould be
available to assist in judging the landecape projects and would seek land which
can be used for the projeot/s. Bill Baldwin stated that he would set up a
