'Mrs. Milly Joplin, Chairperson Lisa Lanza, Mrs. Phoebe MOBS nnd Mrs. Emma Whitney.
Mrs. Eugenia Berry and Ms. Jacquelyn Smith were excused and Mrs. Ruth DuChateau
and Ms. Paula Littlefield were absent. Ms. Diane Steinle of the St. Petersburg
Times was also in attendance.
I.~. ,
Chairperson Lanza called the meeting to order. She stated thore was no mention
in the April minutes of the meeting she and Mrs. Moss had with Keith Crawford and
Bob Morrison regarding holiday decorations. Also, in the seventh paragraph, first
page) Mrs. Whitney is to bring requests to the'Comrnittee rather than directly to
Keith Crawford and we in ~urn will go to Mr. Crawford with a memorandum. Next para-
graph, should read lIupgrade and new electrical equipment so that it can support future
demands for electrical service.1t After these corrections and additions, Mrs. ,Moss
moved to accept the minutes as amended and it was seconded by Mrs. Joplin. !
Chairperson Lanza asked Ms. Terry Finch, Environmental Speciali8~, to the meet-
ing. Ms. Finch said the Environmental Section will be severely impacted by the loss
of an inspector as the positions all overlap. Consequently some programs will have
to be dropped. She said that with increasing rules and regulations in the state the
Environmental Section will be unable to respond to all of them. Discussion followed
and it was agreed the Chairperson would draft a memorandum to the City Manager to
look into other areas for cuts in the budget as the Committee believes the protection
of the environment in Clearwater is essential as the population of the City and County
increase.
Chairperson Lanza informed the Committee of several items.
1) An article appeared in the paper about the presentation by the Committee of
a .Certificate of Appreciation to Frisby, Inc.
Z) Chairperson Lanza said Ms. Paula Littlefield, an agriculture teacher at
, Countryside High School, was appointed to the Committee.
3) Keith Crawford received a memo from Mrs. Paula Boulton which was forwarded
to Chairperson Lanza, regarding holiday decorations on the ,Beach.'

their Christmas tree which is similar to the one in Clearwater~
5}'Memo was received from Keith Crawford ~egarding approval by the City Manager
of $35,000 for installation of electrical lines on the Causeway.
6) 'Chairperson Lanza read the letter she wrote to Mayor and Commissioners
regarding a meeting with, ~r. Crawford on holiday decorations.
