The Power Company is enthusiastic about the idea, and it is hoped approval is granted so planting can begin this fall. This well drained area would adapt. itself to a fully controlled tree planting program. Es- timates are for the planting of 1000 trees per year. The goal is to have a continuous inventory of 5000 trees, propagated at the City Nursery and moved to the tree farm. If all petitions were accepted, the rate of tree requests wouid be approximately 35 per day. The charge for City trees would be increased from $15 to $25 per tree. Discussion followed concerning the danger of men constantly working under the power lines at this area. More information should be available by the next meeting. " The Parks and Recreation Department will contact the Sanitation Division to inquire as to the possibility of having the Norman Bie property on the Bayfront cleared up.
