The regular monthly meeting of the Beautification
Commdttee was held at the City Hall Annex on June 7, 1978
at 9 :30 A.M. Chairman Fi-ank Krame presided. --,

Me~ers present were: Mrs. Phyllis Phillips, Mrs. Juanita
. Anderson, Mrs. Lee Sciarra, Mr. D. C. Snoyenbos, Mr. Robert
Thompson, Mr. Frank Krame, .Mr. Lester Dicus and Mr. B. panusb.

Absent were: Mr. Al Price, Mr. James Short and Mrs. Jessica
. N. Kerr.
Also in attendance were: Mr. Albert Rogers, Mr. Art Kruse,
Mr. Eddie C. Moore and Mr. Pat Tracy.
Mr. Dicus approved the minutes as sent.
Chai~an Frank Krame read a letter from Tony Shoemaker
acknowledging the recommendation by the Beautification Co~ttee
that Crest Lake beautification be continued. The City Commission
will give consideration to this recommendation. Mr. Moore comment-
ed the CETA Project.vI will be te~nated on July 7, 1978 creating
a personnel problem. Traffic Engineering has final decision
whether shell or asphalt paving will be used,on the future parking
lot at Crest Lake. Mr. Dicus commented on the beautiful job which
has been done, at Crest Lake.
Chairman Krame announced that Mrs. Kerr, who was unable to
attend'the meeting, has been appointed a new member of the
'Beautification committee and also introduced Mr. Robert Thompson,
a newly appointed member of the Conunittee.

Mrs. Anderson reported the, washout oh Edgewater Drive has
not been taken care of. ' Mrs. Anderson called City Hall to
inqui're about the monies made av'~ilable last July to complete
the Edgewater project. She was told the money has been spent.
Mr. Rogers requested the Chairman look into the matter and find
out the correct monies available at this time.
In reply to the request by Mr. Kruse at the last meeting,
Mr. Xrame announced the slides of the proposed Bayfront would
be available to the Beautification Committee to see at a future
date.
Mr. Snoyenbos noted the following areas in Clearwater
worthy of beautification: North and South Fort Harrison,
Drew (Rt. 19 W.), Courtney Campbell Causeway and South Missouri.
At the, next meeting small maps will be available to members so
areas can be more readily located.

"M!:. Thompson spoke highly of Mr. Eddie CoO Moore and
. ,g8ve' recognition to the Director of parks and Recreation
who.will'retire from 40 years of service to~the city on
June 20th. Mr. Moore remarked about t.he fine help given
htm by all members and said he was sure his successor,
Mr.' Ream Wilson, would be equally pleased with the co-
operation of the Committee. The Committee gave Mr. Moore
, a ,unanimous vote of thanks. .
Mrs.', 'Phillips moved the meeting be adjourned, second by
Mr. Snoyeribos - motion carried.
,The next meeting of the Beautification Committee will
'be.helc;1,on July 5, 1978 at 9;30 A.M. Election of a chairman
for ',1978 ' 1979 will be held.
