Set the date of Saturday June 7 for the event. Hours will
be from 9 until 11 or until supply exhausted.
Will again use the sites of the Clearwater City Nursery and
the Largo Rec Center.
Clearwater will donate the following trees:
55.0 eucalyptus
100 Jerusalem Thorne
50 Royal Poinciana
700 total

Times will purchase from Pinellas Vo-Tech;
40D Golden Rain Trees
400 Jerusalem Thorne
400 Eucalyptus
400• Bottle Brush
200 `additional trees
1800 total trees
This will make a total of 2500 trees to be divided evenly
between the two locations.
'.Bob McMichael felt this number of trees was too small for
this event. Will check with the board of realtors to see
if there is any chance of them contributing some additional
trees. Will let Dick Anderson know by next week.
Ric Benton indicated that for next years event we look into
the.possiblity of purchasing gallon pots and buying trees from
the state. There would be considerable savings this way.
Might have.to make arrangements to have the trees transplanted.

Volunteers should be on hand by 7:30 at their locations.
This will give plenty of time to get the lines under controT,
Will need 8 realtors at each location and 6 ladies from the
Garden club, Bob McMichael and Dick Anderson will be in•charge
` at the Clearwater site and Lddie Moran and Dave Sellars at the
Largo site. Mrs. Smith from the Barden club will be at Largo
and Mrs. Stieneker at Clearwater. Pat Tracy will be on hand'
at the Clearwater site to answer questions about care of trees
and Ric Becton will be on hand at the Largo site,
Will use the same area that was used last year for the Largo
site. Mr. Wintermeier will have the area marked off with
snow fence. Added that this year the road into the complex
has been paved. Will check with Pioneer Western to get
permission to park the overflow on their :dot as we dial last
year.
Will rent an umbrella for the Largo site. Will also bring
cooler of cokes and chairs for vo'luntters. Need traffic
vests for the realtors to use in directing traffic.
Need two walkie talkies for. communications at the Largo.site.
The Times will run promotion ads and prepare information '
flyer on the various species of trees, Story will, be in
Pinellas Times to announce the event, should be May 14.
Bill Voght will rope off the area used at the Clearwater
Nursery sight for the tree give away.
Chuck Albery suggested contacting previous tree recipients
and get follow up stories. This year will take only every
50th person's name and address.
?.' Next meeting of this committee will be held Thursday, May 15
at, 2: 30pm in the Clearwater Advertising office cf the St. Pete
Times at.1932 Drew Street in Clearwater.
