The city of Clearwater is now in possession of this property. Discussion
followed. The bulkhead, line must be established before city may proceed
with beautification.

The Downtown Development Board has worked out the density zoning
~prOblern. The 300 foot item lowered to 100 foot buffer. Any formation
will be considered on its own merits. Beautification committee desires
to work with the DOwntown Development Board.
Discussion was held on Cleveland Street planters and on plaoing of
benches. Alan Smith stated the Maintenance crew will work with him on
placement of benches.

Oaks DoCks. Hope to have complete report for Committee by January 1, 1974.
committee advised by Mr. Rogers a new condomirium is being constructed
at the foot of Hart Street. This should eliminate the unsightliness of
the area.

There has been some vandalism with the sprinkler system on Edgewater
Drive with one being stolen at north end of Beach. This has been capped.
Alan Smith checked automatic valve power":and water is off. Security box

at odd hours. Mr. Rogers asked the city proceed with safety valves.

Kings Highway has been assigned an architect for the building. Archi-
tects have also been assigned for the McMullen Park Tennis Clubhouse and
the building at the Clearwater Ya~ht Club. Engineering is working on
McMullen Park tree location survey. Working for location of tennis courts
to save as many trees'as possible.
Discussion was then held on location of tree farm and parks nursery.
Mr. Wilson stated present nursery has a long metal buiXlng which will be
taken over by Water Pollution control. Engineering now working on idea
of constructing a new building instead of relocating present building.

Chai~an Rogers stated the Realtor tape program on Sundays will have 8
program either this Sunday or Sunday week on the Tree Give-a-way Program

sponsored by the st. Petersburg Times. Requested any land developer having
trees would please call the city or the Realtor Board office. We will then
check on whether the City could use these trees.
Patrick Tracy and Alan Smith have found that City can use some pines on
Mr. Marchiselli's property on Belcher Road.
Suggestion was made on whether it would be possible for Mr. Gil Whitten,
county Agricultural Agent, to join Beautification Committee. Mr. Whitton
has expressed an interest in doing so. Chairman Rogers will discuss this
with Mayor Hougen to check.
Discussion was then held on an article recently in paper of idea of
introducing carp into area lakes to eat plant material. Final approval
':)has not 'been released from federal officials on idea. These fish will
