The meeting was called to order at 9:37 A.M. Michael Stunrt moved to approve the minutes of the meeting of April 6. 1988. The motion was duly seconded by Charles Dunn and corricd ununimously. Michael Stuart read the name of Charles porthousc, Parks and Recreation, who is being denied membership in the Pension Plan due to high blood pressure. Mr. Porthouse may reapply when his blood pressure is under control. " :'"'' '. Cornelius ,Legters III, Gas Inspector, Building Department, asked to speak to the Commiuee concerning his rejection for membership in the Pension Plan. Mr. Legters was denied . membership due to his cxcessive weight upon the doctor's recommendation. Mr. Leglers explained tliat he has always been overweight and has had medical carc in the past in an effort to reduce his weight. . Assistant City Attorney. submitted to the Committee members a copy. of the settlement ';' agreemcnt rcached in the matter of Lenard Dixon. Oele Triggs, the fonner wife of Mr. Dixon. "': " wlU receive a lump sum payment of S1,000.00 with the balance of the pension to be paid to , Ella Mac Dixon. ".' " Michael Stuart moved to approve the payment of SI,OOO.OO to Ocic Triggs with the balance of the ,pension payable to EUIl Mae Dixon. A bill from Dr. Gutierrez for $300.00 was 'also received. This matter will be acted upon nt the second meeting in May. ~ ~ ~ > c Michael Stuart is working on the upcoming election. The Committee considered the requcst of Patricia Moore. widow of Allen Moore, Police Sergeant. Police Department, for pension based on her husband's death (non~job~connected , 9isabi1ity)~ . Charles Dunn moved to approve the pension wilh an addilonnl 15% paid for the couple's one child. ',The motion, was duly seconded by Michael Stuan and carried unanimously. , .
