The meeting was called to order at 9:55 A.M.
John Nicholson moved to approve the minutes of the meeting of February 17. 1988. The
motion was duly seconded by Michael Stuart and carried unanimously.
Upon the doctor's recommendation. Charlie Dunn moved not to accept into membership
Corinne Woodard. Parks & Recreation. due to excessive weight. The motion was duly
seconded by John Nicholson and carried unanimously. This employee can be re-evaluated
in September.

10hn Nicholson moved to accept into membership the six (6) cmployec(s) listed above. The
motion was duly seconded by Michael Stuart and carried unanimously.
With regard to Lenard Dixon. Miles Lance, Assistant City Attorney. spoke with
Mr. Wilhelm who indicated he would be initiating some action very shanly.
Secretary Laursen read to the Committee the motion made by the Pension Trustees' in which
they requested the Pension Advisory Committee submit to John Welch's doctors the
information the Trustees received from the Police Chief. He also advised them that he
. received. a letter from Cary Singletary. attorney for Mr. Welch. Mr. Singletary indicated he
would like to get together to determine the best way to submit this information to the
psychiatrists.
Discussion ensued concerning whether or not it would be beneficial to send this material to
'the doctors. Chairman Dunn felt it would be a waste of time since the doctors have told him
in' the past their determination is based solely on what the patient tells the doctor.

John Nicholson and Mike Stuart had no problem with allowing the doctors to review the
matcrial although it was felt some time Umit should be given.
Michacl Stuart moved that I) Miles Lance and Cory Singletary together draCt a letter
acceptable to both: 2) the packet be sent to the doctors on whose opinion the
recommendation was based; 3) it be sent certified mail. return receipt requested: 4) the
doctors be asked to respond within 30 days: and S) the Pension Advisory Committee consider
this matter at the first meeting following the expiration of the 30 days. The motion was duly
seconded by John Nicholson and carried unanimously.
Secretary Laursen advised the Committee that the Trustees would not request an opinion
from the Attorney General concerning the conflict of interest issue. The Trustees did ask
the City Attorney to request an updated opinion from Miles Lance.

The Committee expressed displeasure with the decision of the Trustees. Discussion ensued.
Secretary Laursen suggested one of the members should attend the next Trustees' meeting
and make the request in person. John Nicholson will auend the meeting on March 14, 1988.
