Michael Laursen, Personnel Director Deborah Lally, Personnel Department D. R. Perkins, Payroll Services Manager Miles Lance, Assistant City Attorney The meeting was called to order at 9:42 A.M. Michael Stuart moved to approve the minutes of the meeting of December IS, 1987. The motion was duty seconded by Charles Dunn and carried unanimously. Michael Stuan read the names of the following employees to be llccepted into membership in the Pension Plan: Date of Employment Pension Elig. Dnt~ John Oswald, Gas Dist. Utilities/Water 12.7-87 12-7 -87 12-14-87 11-30-87 12-7-87 12-7-87 12-14-87 11-30-87 Michael Stuart moved to accept into membership the four (4) employees listed above. The motion was duly seconded by Charles Dunn and carried unanimously. With regard to John Welch, Police Officer, a letter was received from Cary Singletary, attorney for Mr. Welch, requesting this matter be placed on the next agenda. Chairman Dunn stated since Mr. Singletary had requested previously a full hearing on this ,matter, this. should be considered at this time. Michael Stuart would like an opportunity to review the file' .before making any decisions in this matter. The, Pension Advisory Committee will meet on Wednesday, January 6th. and Thursday, January 21st. at 9:30 A.M. It was decided Chairman Dunn would contact Mr. Singletary and ask him to appear on ,January 21st to discuss what the next step will be concerning John Welch. A determination " will be made at that time as to whether or not a full hearing will be held in this matter. Chairman Dunn spoke with Dr. Ferderig'os about two weeks ago concerning John Ferzola, Firefighter, and a letter will be forthcoming. Mr. Dunn explained to Dr. Ferderigos what information was needed. 0", :I .r: ,,' :[ '. '.; .j I I I , I i , i ',' Chairman Dunn spoke with Frederick 'Voodard, Firefighter, concerning his disability pension. Mr. Woodard had the two Jests requested by the Pension, Advisory Committee. At this point in time, no action can be taken until 3 letter is received from Dr. Lyster stating the extent, of Mr. Woodard's disability. ~ \ . ~~, . Miles Lancc, Assistl1J1t City Attorney, spoke with the attorney representing Oclc Triggs and advised him to proceed with this matter in an effort to resolve the question oC who is entitled' to this pension, . D., R~ Perkins, Payroll Services Mannger. stated he had a telephone call fram Mrs. Woodard rega'rding' pny:mcnt of child support. Mr. Perkins informed her he could do nothing until ~e receives. a court order requiring the City to pay her. , . Michael 'Stuart requested a letter be sent to Mr. Woodard advising him to attend the next m'eetiog io an effort to. resoive his case.
