Discussion ensued as to whether or not Mr. Werner was able to continue In his present position. Due to his heart condttlon, he cannot perform the , labor Involved In his, job. '. '." " ..'. " " David Krieger moved to grant George Werner a non.job.connected dlsabllty pension based on the Information , received. The motion was duly seconded by Charlie Dunn and carried unanlomusly. The next meeting of the Pension Advisory Committee will be held on May 12. 1987, at 9:30 A. M. '. , , Discussion ensued regarding the status of the Pension Rewrite Committee. The next meeting of this committee will be' held May 19. 1987. at 9:30 A.M. The actuarial study wllJ not be In until May 30th. Another meeting " ,Is also scheduled for June 23, 1987. 1'1, '. . Miles" Lance presented . the members with a copy of a letter with reference to Chapter 185 and the '.: :', "prlasumptlon" law. It IS.hls contention the "presumptlon't for pollce otficers and firefighters does not apply to /";,', ,the City'S.. pension plan because no Chapter 185 (premium tax) funds are received for this plan. However, :;',', ,,' under Chapter '112, the presumption does apply for all firefighters.
