John Nicholson recognized Sandra STrali of the Motor Pool who had appeared at the
last Jlleeting. He read in to the record the letter fran Cynthia Cli.man to Ms.
Small regarding her pension contributions.
Sandra Small voiced here objections to the fact that nonies on her l:ehal'f for
the period June, 1985, through February, 1986, have not men paid into the
Pension Fund. Ms. SnaIl was under the impression fran the last treeting that the
monies would be paid by the city. She was informed by John Nicholson that
someone was going to check atout whether or not it was p::lssible for the City to
put \:hese rronies in for her.

David Krieger info~ her that this matter has ooen bafore the oourts, and the
courts ruled that the city f s actions \\ere proper in naking each individual
employee pay hisJher b:!ck pension. She stated she ~uld go back to court with
her case.

John Nicholson stated Barbara Weston had given him letters fran the Ia3al
Department regarding the educational incentive m:mies for firefighters and
I;X)lice officers which he would read later.

John Nicholson stated he contacted Carole Greiner regarding the Pension Advisory
Committee election. Carole Greiner will be the chairwc:man~ Mr. Horton in the
Fire Department will represent his department; Steve Zimnerman will represent
the CWA; and he was unable to oontact Mike Stuart at this time to find out who
will represent the F .O.P. A rreeting will I::e held soon to establish deadlines
for roninations.

David Krieger asked Secretary Laursen if he had any rep:>rt to nake regarding the
Pension Rewrite Committee. The Secretary stated a o::mnunication should be
coming from Gerald Weimer stating the various suggestions rrade by Mike stuart
and Steve zim.terman at the 1l'eeting.
Barbara Weston informed the Carmittee the letter regarding the pension of those
employees dismissed by the city was sent to all deparbnents.

Secretary Laursen submitted to the Cam\ittee oocurrents regarding Willie lee
Billups. Mr. Billups is applying for a non-job oonnected dis;!.bility pension due
to an injured shoulder. '!he Cbet.trtents incllXied a letter from Dr. Woodley and
hospi tal certificates for his dependents under age 18. Dr. Kilgore will operate
M his shoulder on March 6, 1986.
The Coromi ttee advised the Secretary to send a letter to Mr. Billups infonning
him of the need for h'~m to obtain certified birth a:rtificates for his three
d=pendents and a letter frCA.'ll Dr. Kilgore, the surgeon performing his operation.
The neeting adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
