Member" Nancy Degnert City Nurse Visitor: Steve Zimmerman, Gas Division ./ ". /' // Chairman Dunn called meeting to order. John Nicholson moved that the following employees be approved for pension: Seniority Date 10-14-85 10- 7-85 10- 1-85 Da te Pension Effective 10-14-85 10- 7-85 10- 1-85 Name & Classification Raymond Talbot, Water Dist. Servo Wkr. I Kathy Shoby. Police Corom. Operator II Peter Schecter. " " " " Department/Division Utilities/Water Police Police John Nicholson moved that the Minutes of the meeting of October 2. 1985 be approved. Seconded by Charles Dunn and motion carried unanimously. Steve Zimmerman, Gas Division. advised the Committee that in order for him to go under pension again with the City. it would be necessary for him to have another physical. He stated that since the Union Arbitrator had ruled in his favor regarding his dismissal and all of his back pay and rights were to be restored to him. he felt it was not necessary for him to have another physical. Committee Member John Nicholson asked him if he had withdrawn his pension monies and if so, was' he going to pay them back. Mr. Zimmerman stated that he did not have the money to do this. Personnel Director Laursen suggested the Pen~ion Advisory Committee contact the Legal Department relative to the questions raised by Mr. Zimmerman. After discussion, Committee advised Mr. Zimmerman that they could not make a decision on this matter until the next Pension Advisory Committee meeting on November 6, 1985. Chairman Dunn suggested that Personnel Director Laursen write a letter to any employee who has been terminated advising that if he/she plans to put in a Grievance regarding the termination. the employee should leave pension Dlonies with the City until the Grievance is settled. Chairman Charles Dunn read letter he had written to City Manager Anthony Shoemaker regarding the Pension Rewriting Committee asking that the City Manager advise the Committee what the City's intentions are as to setting up this Committee.
