Charles Dunn moved the above employees be accepted into pension. Seconded by
John Nicholson and motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Dunn advised Committee he had received an additional letter from the doctor
on Mike Goodell giving the information requested by the Committee. Chairman Dunn
stated that with this letter and the other letters received from the doctors, he would
vote yes', for the non-job connected disability pension. John Nicholson seconded' the
motion and David Krieger also voted in favor of the motion. ~1otion passed unanimously.
Secretary Laursen will advise Richard Griesinger, Attorney for Mike Goodell that the
pension has been approved by the Committee.
Dan Deignan, Finance Director. passed out copies of information regarding the Custodian
and Investment Advisor for the pension fund. He advised that when the current Custodian
was bought out by NCNB of Charlotte, they immediately started experiencing problems
and they have grown to the point where it is felt a change has to be made. They came
to the Pension Advisory Committee and the Commission and requested permission to go out
for bids. They have gone through that process and are recommending that the low bidder
be accepted in both cases - for Custodian and Investment Advisor. They are asking
the City Commission (Trustees) to approve them at the next Commission meeting.
Chairman Dunn asked that the record, show that the Pension Advisory Committee backs
Finance Director Dan Degnan's suggestions on taking Sun Bank n~\Custodian and Florida
National Bank as Investment Buyers.
'John Nicholson requested that the Finance Director send a copy of the report to
Richard Warwick in the ,Fire Department, Station 46.
