Pension Advisory Committee
August 21. 1985
John Nicholson stated that in his opinion the letter from Dr. Diaz is acceptable.
and the letter from Dr.Passch is not acceptable because it doesntt state his injury.
The letter from Dr. Paaach does not state permanence and the letter dated July 2nd
doesn't state the permanence.
Mr. Griesinger stated that in his opinion if one doctor's letter states he is a
qundraplegic. that is enough. He stated Dr. Pasach is on stand-by right now and
he would like this Board right now to call him on a conference call.
The Committee agreed they wanted a letter from Dr. Paanch stating he is peTmancntly
disabled. Attorney Griesinger will get the letter requested by the Board from
Dr. Pasach.
Committee discussed different seminars that are being held and possibly they might
want to attend the seminar bein~ held in Tampa.on the 18th and 19th of September.
The ,Seminar is the 17th Annual Municipal Pension Fund Administrators' Conference at
the Hyatt ,Regency. Chairman Dunn suggested Dave Krieger get in touch with Mr. Weimer
to see if he could send the committee members and Carole Greiner to the seminar.in
Tampa.
Chairman Dunn advised committee members that he had seen Mr. Weimer in the hall and
had mentioned the committee to change the pension law. Mr. Weimer stated the rumor
was that PAC no longer wanted a committee and Chairman Dunn advised him this was
not true. that they do want the committee. Committee to check with Mr. t~eimer and
Mr. Shoemaker to find out the status of the committee. John Nicholson suggested
that the three union representatives be added to the committee.
Secretary Laursen to write letter to City Manager stating the Committee and employees
do want the pension re-write committee and would also like the ~lree union
represent~tives added to the committee.
Next meeting on September 4th.
Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeffrey E., Harper
