Since that meeting, two pieces of information have been received - one a letter from Dr. Wassel and a letter from Dr. Jeserski stating that Mr. Holsapple has shown 25% improvement in his condition. . Jay Love, stated that what the Committee has right now is no more than they had at the last meeting - two conflicting statements - one stating he has a herniated disk and a letter from the other doctor stating he is improving. ,['he Committee discussedllthe various reports from the doctors and had the City Nurse read the medical terms and explain their meaning. Charles Dunn stated he could not receiv~ these letters and in five minutes make a decision. If you want to have doctors brought to the meetings or if you want to call doctors that is up to the Committee. Chairman Zukowski stated he was going to have a letter sent to Dr. Jeserski requesting cla~ification of his letter. Alan Zimmet said with regard to last meeting he thought the 'Committee wanted to send Holsapple to an independent physician. Has the Committee dropped the idea of an independent physician? According to the last meeting, Mr. Zimmet thought the Committee wanted to send Mr. Holsapple to another orthopedic surReon. Apparently there is another opinion from Dr. Wassel but nothing from an independent physician. Has that been rejected by 'the Committee? This was left up to Mr. Holsapple as to whether he wanted to go along with this. Mr. Zimmett said it was his understanding that Mr. Holsapple was to come back today and give a yes or no to seeing another physician. Mr. Laursen stated it was his understanding that the meeting concluded with the recommendation that consideration be given to the Board coming up with an independent physician and Mr. Griesinger was to discuss this with Mr. Holsapple after the meeting and either get back with Mr. Zirnmet and tell him whether or not that was agreeable or come back to the Committee. There was a recommendation made by Jay Love and Claude Zukowski at the last meeting that he have the further tests. Rick Griesinger stated he would prefer to go along with what Charles Dunn just talked about that he call the doctors and talk to them. Attorney Griesinger said that John Holsapple would refuse to go to another doctor. , , Skip Kroeger said he had a request to the Board. Sometime previous, Firefighter Verhoeven made a request of the Committee to solicit an opinion from the City Attorney in regard to his pension benefits. Committee advised Mr. Kroeger that an opinion was 'made by the City Attorney. He was accepted under the Pension Plan based on his previous service. He was to go under pension as of the date he went into the Military Service. This information will be forwarded to Firefighter Verhoeven again. For the record, Personnel Director Laursen advised the Committee that ~hey had received a response on the Monty Krysko case as to its status. Committee was advised Hearing is to be held March 13~ 1985 re Krysko. be adjourned. Seconded by Charles Dunn and motion carried. Respectfully ~'LU Personnel & Secretary ,.
