Subsequent to that meeting ~;('OC~i Claude Zukowski asked Mike Laursen to draft a letter to the Trustees asking them to tell ~~:;:: .,,' the City Manager to proceed to take whatever steps are appropriate. Personnel Department Representative Jane Craig " II It Meeting was called to order by Chairman Claude Zukowski. Ray Kaminskas moved the minutes of the meeting of July 27, 1983 be approved. Seconded by Claude Zukowski and motion carried. Chairman stated he had a request for retirement from Robert Pitman, Police Department. Ray Kaminskas moved that the Committee approve regular retirement of Robert Pitman, Police'Sergeant.with the date and amount to be computed by Personnel and Finance. Seconded by Claude Zukowski and motion carried. Claude Zukowski moved that the 'widow of Robert Hunter the Finance Department-and motion carried. the Committee approve non-job connected disability pension for and his minor child. Pension amount is to be determined by the Personnel Department. Seconded by Ray Kaminskas and Claude Zukowski moved that Marion Olson, Engineering Division, Public Works Department be a~~coved for regular retirement pension based on age 55 and over 20 years with the ,City~ The date and amount is to be computed by Personnel and Finance. Seconded by Ray Kaminskas and motion carried. \ ' Committee discussed the case of Bernard Donahue. At the present time he is in the Horizon Hospital after attempting suicide. Claude Zukowski stated that after reading the'whole packet on Donahue~ he felt the Committee had no authority to revoke the decision to approve a job-connected disability. This was based on two doctors' reports. This matter was tabled until the next meeting but in the interim, Mr. Laursen is to arrange a m~eting with Mr. DubbeldJ the City's Workers' Compensation lawyer, and the Pension Advisory Committee. ..f '-'. .," "i', ' · ; i. Pension Advisory Connllittee Meeting September 7. 1983 Claude Zukowski moved that the letter as amended (the word subsequent added before "to November 2. 1972") be forwarded to the Trustees. Seconded by Ray Kaminskas and motion carried. Skip Kroeger asked about the status of Mike Arata's pension and was advised that it could not be settled until the Trustees made a decision on the pension pay back. I ,! Chairman asked Carole Greiner if she had any new business. She stated she had a list of people who had resigned and withdrawn their resignations or were rehired, and she does not have pension letters on these people. After discussion it was decided that she will get all the information together and the Committee will then ask for a legal opinion as to whether these employees will need new physicals. Mrs. Greiner also advised the Committee that Monty Krysko had been to see her for help in getting all papers needed to file for job connected disability pension. She asked , what had happened to all the "How to Retire Booklets" and the Committee discussed ways . ,',,! t?f getting these booklets to people who ar~ planning on retiring. ~;'\c' .
